About

Halifax. The Cable Wharf. Us. You.

Rob and Mikaela are tying the knot in the city where it all began — beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Rob and Mikaela met in 2017 at work. He was a co-op student, and she had just joined the team after graduation. Despite their best efforts, they weren’t exactly subtle about falling in love with a co-worker.

Their office romance was short (just three months before Rob’s work term wrapped up), but it was enough to change everything. Not long after, they moved into their first place together: a downtown Halifax apartment with lots of charm and a kitchen roughly the size of a shoebox. It didn’t matter; they loved their little life there and stayed for nearly seven years.

A leap of faith brought them to St. John’s, Newfoundland, where they bought their first home and built a new life with their most prized possession — their cat, Nora.

Then, on a magical day in Toronto on November 20, 2024, Rob proposed to Mikaela. It was the best day of their lives. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their lives with all of you!

Before You Go

WHEN IS THE RSVP DEADLINE?
Please RSVP by July 1, 2026 so we know to save you a seat!

ARE THERE OTHER WEDDING-RELATED EVENTS?
Yes — we’re planning a welcome party a day or two before the wedding. Details to come!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Cocktail attire — fun, festive, and a little fancy. Bridesmaids will be in pink, burgundy and green if you’re hoping to avoid matching.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE?

Late August in Halifax can be warm and sunny or cool and foggy. Pack layers and check the forecast before you go!

ARE KIDS INVITED?

We’re planning an adults-only (19+) celebration due to venue rules. If you’re travelling with kids, your invitation will note if they’re included.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

If you have a plus one, their name will appear on your invitation and RSVP form.

DO I PICK MY MEAL IN ADVANCE?

Yes — you’ll choose your appetizer and entrée when you RSVP. Allergies or restrictions? Let us know!

DO YOU HAVE A REGISTRY?
We're fortunate to have a beautiful home with just about everything we need! If you feel inclined, we’d be over the moon with any contributions towards our honeymoon! Thank you for helping us make memories!!!

FAQ

Wedding Day

WHERE IS THE VENUE?
The Cable Wharf is at 1751 Lower Water Street — the long red building stretching out over the ocean.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive by 4:30 p.m. to get settled before the ceremony begins.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE THE WEDDING?

Explore downtown Halifax! Grab a bite on the boardwalk or check out our favourite spots on the Halifax (Our Way) page.

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

There’s free street parking on Saturdays and several paid lots nearby. Arrive a bit early — downtown spots fill fast.

WILL THE WEDDING BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The ceremony (weather permitting) will be outside on the wharf — covered but possibly breezy. The reception is indoors, with access to the wharf all night. Bring a light layer just in case!

DO I HAVE TO LEAVE THE VENUE AT ANY POINT?

Nope! Everything — ceremony, dinner, and dancing — happens in one spot.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS?

We’d love that! We’re just asking for no phones during the ceremony — we want to see your lovely faces, not a sea of phones. After that, snap away!

WHAT IS THE BAR SITUATION?

There’ll be an open bar for part of the evening, plus wine on the tables. Later, it’ll switch to a cash bar (debit/credit accepted).
